I agreed to allow ‘GAIN’ Adware/pop-ups on my computer in exchange for a ‘Free’ screensaver. I’m now tired of their pop-ups. I went onto my control panel, and add/remove programs, and removed the ‘Aquatica’ screensaver program. The pop-ups where still there, so I went back into my control panel, and add/remove programs, and TRIED to remove the ‘GAIN’ program. It tells me I must remove the ‘Aquatica’ program I already removed. Am I now stuck with these annoying pop-ups or is there a way to remove this from my computer?

1. Click “Start” -> “Programs” or “All Programs” -> “Autostart” or “Startup”
2. Delete the value pointing to ‘GMT.exe’
3. Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run. (The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.)
4. Browse to the key:
‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run’
5. In the right pane, delete the values called ‘CMESys’, ‘CME’, ‘Trickler’, and ‘trickler_bic_GatorDM_4010′, if they exists.
6. Exit the registry editor.
7. Restart your computer.
8. Start Windows Explorer and delete:
%ProgramsDir%\Common Files\CMEII\
%ProgramsDir%\iMesh\Client\fsg.exe
%WinDir%\temp\adware\
Note: %SystemDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP).
Go to, download this program, this is the best system on the market to get rid of Gain..Its FREE too. We had a real problem with Gain and other programs, we tried them all, this is the only one that got rid of them..
Drop it off of a ship into the North Atlantic.
GAIN comes to most people through downloading Gator (the Ewallet software or the Aquatica screensaver – the software is actually very good). Unfortunately, though, the GAIN adware popup software is NOT so good. It pops up constanctly and is a real pain in my opinion.. No GAIN no PAIN!!!
So, how to get rid of it!!
As well as the obvious “Gain software” entry under control panel -> add/remove programs, it probably installed another program too.. and it is probably this program that needs to be removed.. Unfortunately its not that easy to work out.
The way I work it out is to go into Task Manager and try to work out which process is running that I dont recognize in the processes panel.. however, if you are not that aware of which processes should be running on your pc, that may be difficult..
Lavasoft (lavasoftusa.com I think) has a good spyare removal program that works it out automatically for you – you will probably also have other stuff you arent aware of too.. I believe its still free to download from here or download.com Incidently, download.com is a very trustworthy site for any downloads of useful utilities and programs – esp trial versions or free versions!
U can remove that by going to regedit(registry editor)
but u’ve 2 b extreme cautious when u’re editing ur registry. one step wrong and u may to install u’re windows from first.

jes install spysweeper from download.com
the best i’ve known. It’s shield is so strong that it even detects and removes TROJANs and VIRUSES. Never ever click on any ads or free screen savers. U can when u’ve installed spysweeper.
