McAfee is a great choice for internet security. It has a good detection rate and is one of the best ones out there. AV Comparatives found it to have a 95% detection rate which is pretty good knowing the fact that there is no program that finds very virus or threat. McAfee doesn't care to much about tracking cookies since they are completely harmless. I use McAfee and so do all my friends. Whenever I scan my computer, it finds nothing, but my friends say it found a lot though for them. I also download scanners just to see if McAfee is working and those scanners found zero threats. So McAfee is good, try not to use two programs since they will cause problems. If you want to know, Kaspersky is the best one out there, but I give McAfee the best rating based on detection, real-time protection, and since it doesn't slow down the computer. So just keep, McAfee like me and you should be fine. But consider getting Ad-Aware or SUPERAntispware to use along with McAfee to find spyware or malware just in case McAfee misses them. That's what I do, and so far my computer's clean.
