Lots of sites out there for spyware/adware removal, and registry “fix”, but they aren’t “free” even tho they claim to be. You get minimal “fix” at these, unless you pay them money. Are there any out there that will do a good job, for “real” free????

Try SpyBot. That one may still be available free of charge.
It scans, fixes, and allows you to immunize if you want. It also allows you to create back-ups.

We use Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware and it is free…they also do free updates.

well what do you call AVG? AVG is completely free.
Try using Limewire, uTorrent and other Torrents out there.
There is a website i know….You can actually download every program released for free…. but that would be a secret.. perhaps you can pay me 50 bucks.
By a “site”, I would assume you mean that you are looking for an online scan and not a program to download. Yet everyone here is directing you to download stuff. Sheeesh!
Run both of these on-line scans. Both are free and excellent at detecting and removing malware free of charge. There is no need to un-install any of your current protections before using these.
1. Scan for virus, worms, dialers, etc. and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with BitDefender’s Online Scanner
2. Scan for trojans, adware, cookies, and spyware and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus.
These scans will take quite a bit of time. The time is necessary to clean-up an infected computer.

okay try this :
click on start, click on run and type in MSCONFIG
on the top right corner of the screen click on start up and now at the bottom of the screen click on disable all. now click on ok and close. restart the comp.
now click on start, run and type in regedit
click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ,software, microsoft, windows, current version, find the folder Run, right click and delete the folder. Restart the comp.
