Whilst i do have the above mentioned program installed, It is never used, so why or how would this happen?

k as some of u asked more info.i use Norton AV. Yeah am not sure its antivirus, but yeah it *****….Its upto u to classify that… i always get diverted to irrelevant ad sites…thats all i know. I used Spy bot. It detected atleast 20 programs and cleared them but still this problem is not solved.

There are three options, heal, move to vault, and ignore. Definitely I should not click ignore. But I’m confuse, do I need to click on move to vault or heal? I have been infected with “Virus Buster” adware/spyware. I know other people on here have had the same issue and have received numerous responses.

Here’s the problem:

McAfee Security and Virus Checker does not detect it
AVG does not detect it
Microsoft Malicious Software Detector does not detect it
HouseCall by Trend Micro does not detect it

HOW THE HECK DO YOU REMOVE THIS STUFF???? All .dat files are current and I am using the latest version of all the above software. HELP!

I usually just close the window but IE opens up with an advertisement from Ucleaner and it won’t go away. I can’t use my laptop because there are so many pop-ups it’s impossible. I see icons on my desktop, that I didn’t install, such as Error Cleaner and Adware&Spyware Protection but when I go to control panel and try to uninstall them they aren’t on the list. And now my lap top is getting really slow. I’ve realized that I haven’t defrag my lap top in over a year, will this work?

And everytime i log on the internet i get this thing telling me i have a Threat of a Virus Attack and To update something, and when i do it’s a Spam Page.. I blocked it but it won’t go.. Grr

deleted, but there are 2 registry entries that cannot be deleted, renamed, or modified. I’ve tried exporting the Browser Helper Objects key in which it is contained, deleting it from the registry, and editing the entry out with Notepad but still can’t remove it when I import. Whenever I start Windows an error message pops out, showing system info and “Module Name: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe” has caused an error, followed by data. There are three buttons: [OK] [Copy Text] and [Send Report]. I tried sending a report, but the button is greyed out. I’ve used many anti-virus programs but still can’t delete the registry entries. Also, I can’t delete it in Safe Mode. Lavasoft’s Ad-Aware detects it, but still can’t remove it.

I am using another computer because I have disconnected the Internet from the infected computer
I have backed up my files and installed Windows again. This question is now closed.
